MediciGlobal 2004 - 2009

Executive Director of Strategy & Innovation

In 2004 I arrived at MediciGlobal as its first in-house designer. During this time I built a strong creative department and worked closely with both company management and numerous internal teams to conceptualize and implement MediciGlobal's creative/advertising programs and tactics. My coordinated efforts ensured that branded programs were strategically aligned to the core business objectives of MediciGlobal and our pharmaceutical and biotech clients. I have developed client solutions in multiple formats including print, web, keyword advertising, radio, television, CD-ROM, tradeshow graphics, and branded presentations.

Strategic Development & Implementation
  • Defined the unique selling propositions of investigational therapies translating them into key marketing messages to lay the foundation for study branding.
  • Research of existing marketed therapies, competing clinical trial positioning, and the patient population (target audience) to establish the competitive/market landscape.
  • Proposal writing and business presentations of strategic marketing initiatives for global direct to consumer advertising campaigns and patient (customer) retention programs.
  • Team/Project Management responsibilities that include the collaborative oversight and direction of multiple internal teams and external vendors as-well-as the development of timelines and allocation of resources from contract execution to delivered product.
Innovation Leader:
  • Identified marketing program process inefficiencies which led to the development of StudyCoordinator.net, a web application for study sites and clients that integrates real-time metrics from direct response advertising campaigns with a referral management system - eliminating un-needed company overhead, reducing a program's cost, and speeding up program timelines.
  • Conceptualized and oversaw the development of ADapt, a proprietary web application built on Adobe InDesign Server designed to speed global deployment and enhance the management of translated, localized, printed-based clinical trial marketing materials. ADapt has been used to deliver consistently branded program materials to over 50 countries in 40 languages. Bio-IT World magazine recognized ADapt in its 2008 Best Practices Awards program.
  • Implemented methods for the development of on-line focus groups by utilizing internal patient advocacy efforts combined with existing low cost web 2.0 technologies. By targeting self-identified patient groups on-line, marketing efforts benefited from 3-5 times the response rate of highly qualified participants at a fraction of the cost of a physical focus group.

  • Hands on, collaborative creative direction that defined brand consistency, ensured program messaging alignment to the strategic implementation plan, and incorporated market research and focus group data to maximize effectiveness.

  • Gathered and formalized end-user/client requirements for technical projects to provide a clear development plan and ensure core business objectives were met.

AdMed, Inc 2002 - 2004

Creative Services Director

During my tenure at AdMed I led a team of 10 multimedia designers and developers in the creation of branded training manuals, e-Learning/training CD-ROMs and websites for marketed drug therapies. These efforts addressed the needs of major pharmaceutical companies in training/educating their sales forces and key opinion leaders. During this time I conceptualized and architected the development of a customized, proprietary e-Learning/training web application and also instituted and managed the transition from Macromedia Director to the more flexible Flash technology. This allowed learning components to be used on CD-ROM and the web without the duplication of programming effort - reducing time to delivery and cost of development. I coordinated all project and resource scheduling to ensure projects remained on time and on budget. I was responsible for the production and delivery of printed and duplicated materials.

Principal, Creative Director

As Principal and Creative Director of lucidCircus I managed a team of 12 people in the development and production of branding programs for print, interactive, and television. lucidCircus served multiple industries including financial, non-profit, business to business, business to consumer, government, and New York based advertising agencies. I was responsible for the overall visual and verbal direction of our clients' projects and spearheaded new business development, proposal writing, and client presentations.

At Monsoon Microstudios I worked collaboratively with a team of 15 people to provide creative design solutions, marketing materials, and advertising campaigns for youth culture brands, sports marketing, restaurant, entertainment, financial, and business to business clients.
